Shake-up at the Vatican

Shake-up at the Vatican tells the story of the new Pope, Francis,  whose mission is to save the Roman Catholic Church. Through exclusive interviews, encounters with protagonists of the Vatican drama in Italy and the United States, and images never seen before, the film exposes Francis’ challenges, and features those who fight for him and those who want him out.

The film looks into why he has decided to live away from the Pontiff’s apartment in the Vatican, why he makes sure never to be left alone, and why he always shares his meals with other people. The film also shows how the revolutionary messages of the Pope on poverty, immigration and capitalism are creating a new dynamic that threatens powerful interests throughout the world. We answer the fundamental question: can he make it? Will “Papa Francesco” survive?
