Winged Rome

Rome with its 4 million inhabitants has been invaded in last years by more than 100 species of wild birds. No hunters, higher temperatures & easy food are some of aspects that attract birds to raise their chicks in the city. The film shows the surprising evolutionary change of birds that have not only changed their behaviors, but also developed a new plumage transforming them into new species. The starlings, the kestrels, the sparrows, the parrots… adapted to live in the old town locations: San Peter Cathedral, Colosseum, Pantheon, the same ones captured in the Oscar film “La Grande Bellezza”.
